United Way of NC in conjunction with East Carolina Behavioral Health released the North Carolina 2-1-1 annual report which included the UWCC’s four county service area. The numbers are telling and bring a perspective to the continued needs of our community. Across Carteret, Craven, Jones and Pamlico counties $85,070 was distributed for rent payment assistance and $111,314 was distributed for utility service payment assistance. www.nc211.org
The United Way of Coastal Carolina does the critical but largely invisible work required to reach community goals – we recruit people to the cause, get commitments for action, and pull together the expertise and resources that get it done. $1 per week provides 2 hours of counseling services for victims of domestic violence.
