Final $1,000 Gas Card Winners Announced

12/10/09  | There were 820 entries in the Final Gas Card drawing.  There were three $1,000 winners drawn.  They were Karen West of Pamlico County Schools, David Taing of Chatsworth Products and the third winner has moved out of state and we are trying to contact him.  There were 10 other weekly winners from the $150 Gas Card drawings; winners include Randy Rowe from Weyerhaeuser (week 1), Rick Seybert from Gregory Poole Marine Power (week 2), Lakeida Smith from Moen (week 3), Christine Moody from Coastal Pregnancy Care Center (week 4), Dwayne Little from Weyehaeuser (week 5), Steve Anderson from the City of New Bern (week 6), Tina Lamm from Craven County Schools (week 7), Demetrius Harkley from Coastal Community Action (week 8), Michael Hary from Hatteras (week 9), and Mike Huffman from Weyerhaeuser (week 10).

This year each weekly winner (from Sept. 30 to December 2) will receive a $150 gas card. Those names will go back into the December 9th grand prize drawings where we will give away three (3) $1,000 gas cards.

 

Karaoke part of kickoff event for United Way's annual campaign
9/27/09  | Jessica Aldrian was shopping at the New Bern Mall on Thursday afternoon, but she stopped long enough to sing a karaoke version of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” at an event hosted by the United Way of Coastal Carolina.

United Way, a nonprofit organization, kicked off its annual campaign on Thursday to raise money for its partner nonprofit agencies in Carteret, Craven, Pamlico and Jones counties. The kickoff featured a Karaoke Challenge, in which a person could challenge someone else to sing karaoke for $5.  Read More
